Job Title: Sr. Systems Administrator
Location: Atlanta, GA
Contract Type: Long-Term Contract
Additional Notes:
- Support data center infrastructure build-outs, including planning for rack, stack, and cabling of IT hardware.
- Handle IT hardware and network cabling changes (adds, moves, and retirements).
- Provide proactive and break-fix support for alarm/ticket remediation related to data center equipment.
- Adhere to data center design standards for space, power, cooling, and physical layer IT infrastructure.
- Manage and organize projects to ensure they are completed on schedule and within budget.
- Maintain and update data center documents, reports, and asset discrepancy remediation.
- Strict adherence to the Change Management window (10 PM – 6 AM).
Job Overview:
The Sr. Systems Administrator is responsible for the efficient provisioning, installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of server systems hardware and software, as well as related infrastructure. This includes the adoption of processes and procedures ensuring system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures align with technology direction and policies.
Qualifications:
Required:
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with management, vendors, and peers.
- Knowledge of data center technology and critical facilities infrastructure.
- Experience with data center infrastructure build-outs, including rack, stack, and cabling of IT hardware.
- Experience with IT hardware and network cabling adds, moves, changes, and retirements.
- Proactive support and break-fix for data center equipment.
- Familiarity with adhering to data center design standards for space, power, cooling, and physical layer IT infrastructure.
- Experience managing and organizing projects to meet schedules and budgets.
- Ability to maintain documents, reports, and resolve asset discrepancies.
- Ability to strictly adhere to Change Management window (10 PM – 6 AM).
- Remote coordination of critical infrastructure maintenance and break-fix activities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- ITIL Certification for Support Services.
Certifications:
- Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE).
- Certification in at least one of the following technologies: Exchange, OCS, Blackberry, IronPort, Configuration Manager, ISA/Proxy, Storage (Legato, IPStor & SAN), NetGil/Citrix, SharePoint 2007, Anti-Virus, F5, Siteminder, VMware, etc.
Preferred:
- Bachelor's Degree or 2 years of relevant experience.
- Trade School Graduate.
- 2 years of IT support experience in a high-availability data center environment.
