POSITION SUMMARY
This position assists with the direction of multi-site terminal safety management and provides overall support and guidance to each terminal's operation, safety, & compliance functions. The Multi-Site Safety, Orientation, and Compliance Coordinator coordinates with the Safety Manager as well as the Applicable Site Manager in executing strategies for building and maintaining a culture of safety throughout the office, yard, and road transport operations. The Multi-Site Safety, Orientation, and Compliance Coordinator is responsible for assisting the oversight of regulatory compliance; supports function of initial and on-going safety training and conducts qualification checks for both employee and contract drivers; conducts, and maintains records of, recurrent safety training for drivers and other terminal personnel; assists in the accident investigation and response process; conducts audits and inspections of the fleet & equipment; and monitors statistics reflecting safety performance in accordance with DOT and OSHA regulations and requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages equipment compliance with ICOA by working with Independent Contractors to assure that required equipment specifications are in place and that maintenance and inspection records are compliant.
Assist with the accident process including reporting, compliance with internal procedures, accident reviews, driver remediation and retraining
Assists with the Roadside Inspection process including responding to state authorities, gathering documents, conducting remediation session and retraining as needed
Assure driver qualification files are compliant by obtaining and transmitting required documentation including renewable items. Update safety systems as required & communicate needs with the contractors in a timely manner.
Assists in scheduling and coordinating onboarding orientations and ICOA execution
Makes recommendation regarding retention of any driver who exhibits deficiencies during orientation.
Maintains and updates various recruiting and on-boarding records and reports.
Assists in Managing electronic equipment inventory
Promote safety awareness and behavior-based safety programs
Adhere to and enforce all ethical standards by which the Company operates
Conducts yard walks and records safety/compliance violations. Communicates violations to operations staff and applicable drivers.
Remains accessible in office during business hours.
Occasionally assists operations team.
Acts professionally and ethically at all times.
Administers activities of the Safety Office, including telephone inquiries, scheduling of hours during various times of the year, and provision of clerical services to the Safety Manager.
Assists with the installation of Samsara equipment by the Safety Manager or scheduling such installs among our network of technicians depending on location.
Supports Safety Manager and Applicable site manager to achieve daily, weekly, monthly, & quarterly goals or deadlines.
Such other functions as may be assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Minimum 2 years of experience in a transportation management and/or safety management role is required.

Some Travel may be required
Occasional on-call responsibilities
Experience should be in safety related field. Fleet safety specifically with emphasis or knowledge of DOT / FMCSA regs.
Proficiency in communication
Responsible for own items and ability to work with team on joint efforts.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Generally sedentary office work environment but required to frequently conduct training and inspection in warehouse, yard and shop facilities as well as on and around trailers and trucks. Some climbing on ladders and steps required. Walking, standing, bending and stretching for extended periods of time. Lifting up to 25 pounds. Must possess ability to work nights and weekends where operations require.
