**Position Overview:**
Please note that this is a gig-based job! You will be considered an Independent Contractor for KLC Pet Sitting. This means that you will be able to pick your own schedule and will be responsible for your own expenses and taxes. There are no guaranteed hours weekly, no office hours, and no set schedules. This job gives you the opportunity to work as much or as little (within reasonable range) as you'd like.
We are looking to grow our team with passionate and reliable Pet Sitters & Dog Walkers who share our commitment to exceptional pet care. Being a KLC Team Member involves visiting clients’ homes to care for their pets, ensuring their well-being, safety, and happiness while their owners are away. You will provide personalized care, tailored to each pet’s needs and routines, and communicate effectively with pet owners to maintain trust and satisfaction. You MUST be comfortable with staying overnight in clients home's. House sitting is our most requested service. Some bookings may be up to 2 weeks long, but are often shorter. Unavailable for overnights- need not apply.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Provide dog walking services with an emphasis on safety, exercise, and attention to individual dog behavior.
- Offer personalized care for cats, including feeding, litter box maintenance, playtime, and companionship.
- Perform overnight house sitting duties, such as pet feeding, cleaning up after pets, keeping the client's home tidy collecting mail, watering plants, and maintaining the home’s security.
- Deliver specialized senior pet care, ensuring the comfort and well-being of older pets by providing extra attention and time with them.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with pet owners, providing updates and photos as needed.
- Adhere to KLC Pet Sitting’s high standards of care and professionalism.
- Handle emergency situations calmly and competently, using your pet CPR and first aid training if necessary.
**Qualifications:**
- Certification in pet CPR and first aid (or willingness to obtain).
- Previous experience in pet sitting, dog walking, or a related field is required. This can include prior pet sitting, vet work, boarding facility work, animal rescue work, or similar. References are required.
- Strong love for animals and dedication to their care while working.
- Reliable transportation to travel between client locations in Myrtle Beach and Conway, SC.
- Excellent communication skills, both with pet owners and the KLC Pet Sitting team.
- Ability to handle pets of various sizes and temperaments. (We do not work with aggressive animals)
- Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.
