Job Summary

The Credit Analyst is responsible for analyzing credit data and financial information of persons or companies that are applying for credit or loans to determine the risk that the bank, or other lending or credit-granting institution will not recoup funds loaned. The level of risk is then used to determine if a loan or line of credit will be granted, and if so, the terms of the loan, including interest rate. Credit analysts will prepare reports based upon their findings to help make decisions on lending and creditworthiness.
Essential Duties
- Assist in the credit decisions of the loan portfolio of the Bank.
- Deliver meaningful, detailed credit analysis while providing efficient, timely service to loan officers.
- Analyzes loan data on new and renewal loans, including data provided by customers, credit reports and other financial institutions.
- Prepare financial spreadsheets, reports, summaries and opinions for lenders on new, renewal and existing loans.
- Business acumen to analyze and properly assess the current and prospective financial condition of the borrower or prospective borrower.
- Evaluating clients’ credit data and financial statements in order to determine the degree of risk involved in lending money.
- Evaluating the financial status of clients by producing financial ratios through computer programs Provide technical advice and assistance to lending staff as needed.
- Assist in the credit decisions of the loan portfolio of the Bank. Assist in preparation of stress testing functions for loan portfolio.

Required Education and Experience
College Degree in Finance or Accounting or equivalent background and experience Excellent oral and written communication. Computer literacy in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Preferred Education and Experience
Two or more years’ experience in a financial institution Prefer bachelor’s degree in business, finance or accounting.
