Responsibilities
- Assist the Director of Business Development with appointment scheduling, preparation, and client presentations.
- Conduct lead generation efforts, including follow-ups to secure meetings and enhance customer relationships.
- Support customer onboarding and retention efforts by maintaining communication and fostering engagement with new clients.
- Shadow and collaborate with Relationship Managers and the Commercial Team to understand and implement strategies for customer acquisition and relationship management.
- Observe loan assistants and private banking teams to gain exposure to deposit gathering, lending, and customer service cycles.
- Assist in entering and tracking loan and deposit opportunities in CRM systems (e.g. Sageworks) and maintain customer interaction logs.
- Work on business development projects, including outreach initiatives, follow-ups, and identifying expansion opportunities within the commercial sector.
- Attend and contribute to weekly sales meetings to understand commercial banking strategies and goals.
- Compile and present a summary report (white paper) at the end of the internship, highlighting key takeaways, process improvement recommendations, and value-added insights from the experience.
- Must be enrolled in an accredited four-year university or have graduated within the last six months.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
- Excellent customer service skills with a professional and personable approach.
- Motivation, perseverance, and determination to support business development initiatives.
- Basic financial acumen and business-to-business sales exposure preferred.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Majoring in Business, Finance, Marketing, or a related field.
- Sales, customer service, or business development experience is a plus.
