Health, Safety and Training Manager
Job Summary :
The Health, Safety, & Training Manager will be responsible for the continuous development of Safety policies, procedures, and effective training implementation of these policies. This position directs the resources and activities of the organization to support the Safety educational programs and initiatives by providing advice, and guidance to company management, and senior management. This position has significant influence on the company’s overall performance in the areas of corporate Safety.
Essential Job Functions :
Training / Educational Programming :
- Ensuring strategic alignment of the education programming with business goals.
- Evaluating individual and organizational performance to ensure training is meeting business. needs and improving performance.
- Develop, implement, and oversee overall safety program.
- Identifying training needs by consulting with stakeholders and using needs assessments.
- Developing and delivering training solutions that meet business needs.
- Optimizing training processes for efficiency.
- Selecting and managing resources, including working with both internal employees and training vendors to develop and deliver training.
- Managing the technologies and technical personnel required to develop, manage, and deliver training.
- Collaborates with management to develop, prepare, and implement both safety and job-related training policies, and procedures.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state / local safety laws, regulations, codes, and rules.
- Ability to hold accountable and stop operations and activities that could harm employees or equipment.
- Creates and conducts employee training on applicable safety, and operational duties / standards.
- Reviews safety training, and continuously revises, improves, and updates for management review.
Health & Safety
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
Education and Experience :
At least 3 years of occupational health and safety and training experience or related experience or additional years of education and experience may be substituted for each other, as determined by Human Resources. Must be detail oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment. Must be self-motivated and enjoy working independently as well as in a team environment. Must be proficient in Microsoft office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.). Must be able to obtain necessary state and OSHA certifications.
Supervisory responsibilities : None
Ensures all staff maintains the OSHA safety log and other administrative requirements related to safety & operation functions and regulations.
Physical Demands and Work Environment :

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment varies from low to high depending upon the location. While performing the duties of the job, the employee must be able to use a keyboard, calculator and telephone. They are regularly required to stand or walk, sit, talk, hear, and use hands to finger, grasp, handle, or feel. The employee must occasionally climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, lift (up to 40lbs) and have the ability to adjust vision for close vision work.
Travel required : This role requires regular travel between branches and provides company vehicle or mileage reimbursement for necessary travel.
