This position shift is from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM M-F.

Must be at least 18 years of age; proof of high school graduation/GED equivalent required
- Some college hours are preferred.
Two (2) years of experience preferred in a state-regulated childcare setting. Physically able to lift, carry, push and pull up to 50 pounds.
- Flexible and able to adjust daily routine or work schedule based on the needs of the children and the center.
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills with children, parents, co-workers, and supervisors.
- Demonstrate a professional appearance and attitude.
- Knowledge of Texas Minimum Standards for Child Care Centers preferred
- Assist in the implementation of daily activity plans and center events, including assisting the ELC instructor in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays.
- Conduct instructional exercises assigned by the instructor; work with individual learners or small groups.
- Support a positive classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of young learners.
- Utilize age-appropriate strategies to manage the behavior of young learners in accordance with district and department policies and guidelines, as well as the Minimum Standards for Child Care Centers.
- Supervise children in all programming areas.
- Assist the ELC Instructor in the completion of all necessary paperwork for communication with the parents of the center.
- Provide regular, ongoing communication to the ELC Director and ELC Instructor.
- Establish and maintain professional relationships and open communication with parents, children, colleagues, and community members.
- Help maintain a neat and orderly classroom, including supporting the cleanliness of the center and sanitizing center supplies.
- Participate in staff development activities to improve job-related skills and meet the yearly training requirements as outlined in the Minimum Standards for Child Care Centers.
- Comply with state, district and department regulations and policies pertaining to the role of an ELC Aide.
- Attend and participate in staff and department meetings, as required.
- Assist in directing the work of substitutes, if assigned.
- Support the cleanliness of the center and sanitizing of all center supplies.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.11 - $20.75 per hour
