Kleinschmidt has a full-time opening for a Senior Level Geotechnical Engineer to design projects with a multi-disciplinary team for dam removals, embankment dam refurbishments, fish passage facilities, recreation facilities, renewable energy projects, and stream restorations. We are looking for someone to join a dynamic team of professionals working on unique projects across Canada and the United States.
This position is open to candidates throughout Canada. Kleinschmidt has offices located in Peterborough, Ontario and Halifax, Nova Scotia. Our flexibility and core value of relationships allow us to offer employees the opportunity to work in an office, remote, or hybrid environment.
Salary: $90,000-$150,000/year (based on experience)
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil (concentration in Geotechnical or Geological Engineering) or Geotechnical Engineering from ABET or Engineers Canada accredited college/university
- 10 years of experience in civil engineering
- Design experience of embankments, deep and shallow foundation design, and seismic design
- Enjoys collaborating with clients and co-workers and can collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team while applying geotechnical engineering skills from analysis and design through to construction
Preferred Qualifications
- A Master's in Civil Engineering with concentration in Geotechnical or Geological Engineering
- Experience performing dam safety, foundation, embankment, or construction/temporary excavation support inspections
- Experience in slope stability and seepage analyses, preferably with Slope/W and Seep/W software
- Experience developing geotechnical investigation, monitoring and instrumentation programs, and laboratory testing programs
Additional Requirements
- Must possess permanent authorization to work in Canada and able to acquire authorization to work in the United States
- Must be willing to travel periodically and possess a valid driver's license
