General Summary :
The Medical Assistant I (MA) performs direct patient care activities under the direction of a licensed provider in the Family Medicine (FM) clinic within his / her scope of practice (RCW 18.360.050). The MA I supports the provider, nurse, or other staff with the daily coordination of patient care and patient access by organizing patient flow, collecting patient information, entering all patient information and clinical data in the electronic medical record (EMR), communicating key information with the physician / provider, anticipating and acting on patient needs proactively. The MA I demonstrates excellence in customer service during interactions with employees, managers / supervisors, patients, patient family members, physicians and other customers; and works collaboratively with colleagues and departments throughout the organization to provide optimal outcomes for patients. Maintains a safe, clean and organized work environment.
Qualifications
Minimum Education, Training & Experience (includes licenses or certifications) :
Safety Sensitive per WASB5123 : NO
Education / Licensure :
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Current Washington State Medical Assistant Registration, or ability to obtain within 30 days.
- BLS required.
- Basic computer knowledge required (Word, Excel, Internet, EMR).
- Must obtain Medical Assistant Certification through KVH apprenticeship program, within 18 months of hire.
