Description
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join Klickitat Valley Health Family Medicine, a rural primary care health clinic. This role combines the delivery of high-quality mental health care with a commitment to improving overall patient wellness in underserved communities.
The PMHNP will work collaboratively with a dedicated team of behavioral health counselors as well as primary care providers and a multidisciplinary team to assess, diagnose, and treat mental health conditions across the lifespan. Responsibilities include conducting comprehensive evaluations, developing individualized treatment plans, managing psychotropic medications, and providing counseling and psychoeducation.
This position requires strong interpersonal skills, cultural competence, and adaptability to address the unique challenges of rural healthcare. The PMHNP will also play an active role in promoting mental health awareness, reducing stigma, and improving access to behavioral health services within the community.

The Behavioral Health clinic is comprised of 2 FT Counselors,1 Community Health Worker and an Administrative Assistant.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Education, Training & Experience (includes licenses or certifications):
Safety Sensitive per WA SB5123: Yes
Education / Licensure:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an active/current RN license in Washington State.
- Master’s or Doctoral Degree from an accredited school recognized by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
- Current unrestricted registration/license in Washington State as an Advanced Practice Nurse.
- Certification as a Nurse Practitioner from the American Nurse’s Credentialing Center or American Academy of Nursing preferred.
- Current BLS and ACLS/PALS certifications required.
Experience:
- At least one (1) year recent full-time experience providing direct patient care in an outpatient or acute care medical setting is preferred.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
- Requires critical thinking skills, ability to make difficult, complex and important decisions, provide counsel/advice for other care givers, patients, etc., as well as, listen and accept advice from others, demonstrate maturity and good judgment and the ability to work with independent and limited supervision.

- Perform various sensory requirements such as: vision, speech, smell, touch, manual dexterity, fine motor skills and hearing in order to assess and treat the patient accurately.

- Complies with mandatory, regulatory and credentialing requirements, such as: HIPAA, CLIA, CMS regulations/standards, drug prescription standards, etc.
- Accountable for proper coding and appropriate charging for all services rendered.
- Demonstrate attention to detail, and maintains a high degree of accuracy; risk of error could result in significant harm or loss.
- Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills with ability to anticipate tasks and prioritize assignments.
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
- Experience with using every day electronic computer tools (e.g., email, data retrieval, voicemail, and internet/intranet) as well as ability to effectively utilize and enter information and clinical data in the electronic medical record (EMR), as well as use/handle all medical equipment utilized in the care of the patient.
- Proficiency with basic computer programs including Microsoft Word and Excel, and have good typing skills.
- Adaptability is essential to manage the needs of a department with unpredictable volume and resources.
Salary : $113,242 - $161,456
