Description
The Landfill Gas Field Technician is responsible for safely performing supervised and unsupervised monitoring, tuning, adjustment, record keeping, troubleshooting, and repair of all gas lines and control devices in the landfill well field. This includes well field piping from wells and vacuum headers to plant and LoCi control and monitoring devices. The technician operates in cooperation with the Landfill Gas Field Tech Lead, Landfill Environmental Manager, and LFG Plant Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Technicians.
Additionally, the technician provides backup operations and maintenance coverage to the gas plant on an as-needed basis and is expected to train and qualify as an LFG Plant Auxiliary Operator to provide backup Auxiliary Operator shift coverage when necessary. This will result in an advancement to LFG Field Technician II, Grade 5 per PUD Policy.

Typical Qualifications
- Two or more years of experience working in a group environment with demonstrated knowledge of basic maintenance techniques, hand tool usage, and general maintenance aptitude.
- Ability to work both supervised and unsupervised in plant and outdoor environments.
- Two years of experience working in an industrial setting following strict safety and environmental precautions.
- Technical training in an electrical or mechanical field is strongly desired, including military or trade school training.
- Valid First Aid/CPR Certification or the ability to obtain it within six months of regular employment.
- Post-offer background check required.
- Post-offer drug test required.
- Post-offer physical/functional test required.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively use Microsoft Office Suite products.
- Valid Driver Licencse

Supplemental Information
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to drive, climb, work off ladders and platforms to access equipment via vertical rung-type, cage-enclosed ladders, and manipulate objects, tools, and controls. This position requires mobility.
Duties may involve operating motorized vehicles and working alone in a control room, in areas of limited access and egress, and lifting and carrying up to 60 pounds over uneven terrain, including steep terrain of up to 30 degrees. The role may expose the employee to noise from the power plant and construction equipment.
Most duties are performed in the areas of Roosevelt, WA, or remotely in Goldendale, WA. However, the position may also involve fieldwork under various weather conditions (wind, rain, icy conditions, temperatures ranging from -5°F to 115°F) for extended periods during outages. Rotating shift work, including working holidays and weekends, is required. Some training outside Klickitat County may be necessary for successful task completion.
