About the role
As the Director of Performance Creative, you will own the evolution of our Performance Creative department, re-framing our offering to deliver creative that directly improves paid media performance. This is more than a leadership role; it’s a chance to build and scale a business unit within our agency. Your mission is to lead, inspire, and grow a team of creative strategists and designers who bring data-driven creativity to life. You’ll ensure that every creative output not only meets but exceeds client expectations—aligning with their performance goals while maintaining profitability for the agency. With your strategic vision, business acumen, and expertise, you’ll set the standard for what Performance Creative means in the industry.
Summary of Responsibilities
Serve as Business Unit Leader of Performance Creative (30%)Profitably manage and grow the Performance Creative department via new business and existing client upsells, balancing operational efficiency with creative excellence.
Manage P&L to ensure sustainable, profitable growth at target margin.Track toward and attain appropriate MRR / NRR targets, service adoption rate, client goal attainment.Partner with Growth Teams (Sales, Account Management) to conduct Pre & Post mortems on new business pitches and upsells, as well as client churn, to identify trends in what drives success.Motivated growth driver, chasing growth, excellence and innovation to work toward the KlientBoost value of “World Class.”Create and socialize a POV on how KlientBoost approaches Performance Creative, positioning Performance Creative as a Paid Media accelerator to make Performance Creative indispensable.Understand frameworks and systems to deliver on performance creative goal attainment, and effectively roll out and evangelize systems across KlientBoost.Partner with AM and Strategy leadership to conduct Pre & Post mortems on client goal setting and attainment.Align value articulation narrative to support new business, NRR, and reduce churn.Streamline department operations to maximize efficiency while improving impact, including but not limited to : Processes & protocol, ways of working.Proactive identification of challenges and scalable opportunities to improve Performance Creative and KlientBoost holistically.Set the standard for Client Excellence (30%)Align creative strategy with overarching client objectives, ensuring measurable impact on performance metrics and supporting achievement of client goals.
Elevate the quality and impact of creative deliverables, ensuring alignment with performance-driven strategies.Serve as the go-to creative leader for assigned brands, providing leadership, strategic clarity, inspiration, and direction to teams.Provide actionable, valuable feedback that consistently elevates the quality of work among all assigned brands.Collaborate with Paid Strategy, Account Management, and other stakeholder teams to ensure seamless integration of creative, strategy, and execution.Uplevel Performance Creative to become World-Class via Thought Leadership & Innovation (20%)Serve as a thought leader and trusted partner for clients, guiding them on the role of Performance Creative in achieving performance goals.
Elevate KlientBoost credibility via external Thought Leadership content, case studies, speaking engagements, and more.Innovate the next phases of Performance Creative growth strategy via KlientBoost’s proprietary Maturity Marketing Mountain (M³) framework.Contributions to innovation : Testing and driving new ideas and contributing to KB Kitchen; Award submissions; Sharing industry trends, learnings, best practices.Lead the Performance Creative team, developing the next generation of World-Class creative strategists (20%)Build, mentor, and lead a multidisciplinary team of creative strategists and designers.
Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and collaboration.Drive professional growth and create opportunities for team members to excel as World-Class creative strategists.Knowledge & Critical Skills / Expertise
Proven experience retaining and growing individual clients, as well as overseeing and growing a holistic BoB.Solid understanding of performance media and creative impact.Experience with clients in B2B, SaaS, and Lead Gen verticals a plus.Ability to motivate and communicate effectively; establish rapport and strong communication with clients and internal partners.Desire and drive to coach others; direct personnel management or informal mentorship experience required.High degree of creativity; ability to generate new, unexpected, award-worthy creative and strategic ideas that solve clients' business challenges.Cross-Functional Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement.Quantitative data analysis, including foundational A / B testing utilizing statistical significance.Proficient knowledge of Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Asana, Jitter, and Motion App.Ability to interview, train, and orient team members.Qualifications
Located in the US.Bachelor’s Degree in Advertising, Graphic Design, Communication Arts, Business, Marketing or equivalent experience.Compelling portfolio of award-winning work and multichannel concepts.7 years experience as a creative strategist and leader in an agency setting.Experience with Google Ads, Meta, and LinkedIn required; experience on other platforms (Snap, TikTok, Reddit, Pinterest etc.) a plus.At least 2 years of experience leading creative strategy to accelerate Paid Media performance in an agency setting.The knowledge, skills and abilities listed above are typically acquired through experience. However, any equivalent combination of education and / or experience, which provides an applicant with the listed knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the job, is acceptable.
