POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Human Resources Manager is responsible for overseeing all HR functions across the organization. This role is a key partner to the leadership team and will lead the design and execution of people strategies that support organizational growth, compliance, employee development, and a positive workplace culture. This position owns the full HR lifecycle, from recruiting and onboarding to offboarding and compliance, while leading a small team of HR professionals.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
People Process Ownership
- Lead and continuously improve onboarding, offboarding, and performance coaching processes to ensure a best-in-class employee experience.
- Champion a strong performance management culture, partnering with leadership to support employee development, coaching, and performance improvement plans.
- Handle complex employee relations issues, investigations, and conflict resolution with professionalism and confidentiality.
- Develop and implement employee engagement initiatives to maintain a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
- Support internal learning and development efforts, including training coordination and career pathing.
Recruiting Strategy & Execution
- Own the recruiting function: write job descriptions, post jobs, source candidates, conduct interviews, and manage hiring processes.
- Partner with leadership to forecast staffing needs and build a pipeline of talent.
- Champion inclusive hiring practices that support the company’s diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) goals.
Payroll, Compensation & Benefits
- Manage and execute bi-weekly payroll processing with accuracy and confidentiality.
- Collaborate with finance on compensation planning and benchmarking.
- Oversee benefits administration, including open enrollment, vendor coordination, employee questions, and compliance with ACA, COBRA, etc.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Maintain employee records and HR documentation in compliance with legal requirements and internal policies.
HR Systems & Metrics
- Manage and maintain HR systems (HRIS, payroll, applicant tracking, etc.) to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and data integrity.
- Track and analyze key HR metrics such as turnover, time to hire, and engagement survey results; present insights to leadership for continuous improvement.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of HR Generalists to ensure high performance and service delivery.
- Collaborate closely with the CEO and leadership team to align HR strategy with company goals.
- Serve as a cultural leader within the organization, modeling values, fostering belonging, and promoting wellness and accountability.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5 years of progressive HR experience, including management-level responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws, HR best practices, and HR systems (e.g., ADP, Paycom, BambooHR, etc.).
- Experience in payroll, benefits administration, and employee relations.
- Proven success in building or scaling HR processes in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred.
