Responsibilities:
- Assist in all aspects of accounts payable and accounts receivable administration. The role will involve performing accounts payable operations, processing invoices, reconciling accounts, and ensuring timely payments to vendors.
- Perform receivable activities, including invoicing clients, posting payments, and reconciling accounts receivable balances.
- Track and maintain AP and AR records and vendor / client information in compliance with company policies.
- Conduct and respond to vendor and client inquiries regarding AP and AR issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Collaborate with finance and operations departments to ensure accurate and timely processing of AP and AR transactions.
- Assist in the preparation and distribution of AP and AR reports, summaries, and analyses to management and other stakeholders, as needed.
- Assist in the review and processing of payroll documents including timesheet and expense reports, ensuring payroll documents comply with applicable regulations and internal policies.
- Cross train in other accounting-related duties, which may include the development of financial reports, key performance indicators, utilization reports, and other performance-related documents.
Qualifications:
- Qualified applicants must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, or at the very least an Associate’s Degree in Accounting.
- Although not necessary, candidates are preferred to have a minimum of 2 years of professional experience working in a related role.
- Thorough knowledge of accounting practices and regulations. Accounting duties include, but are not limited to, financial reporting, budgets, reconciliations, balance sheets, taxes, invoicing, and payroll.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable-related issues and discrepancies.
- Goal-oriented with an active attention to detail and a strong problem-solving skillset.
- Experience with accounting software and systems, Deltek products preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
- Must be an excellent communicator with tremendous interpersonal skills who can interact effectively with vendors, clients, and internal stakeholders.
- Must demonstrate a high level of accuracy, prioritize tasks, manage multiple deadlines, adapt to changing priorities, and deliver high-quality work.
