What We Are Looking For
We’re now hiring a Packaging Machine Operator to operate and maintain the general operations of a line, to ensure continuous quality, efficiency, sanitation, and safety of that line for our dry packaging production team at Tuffy’s Pet Foods. We are looking for someone with a safety-first mindset, to manage, assist with, train and support all line personnel. Hours: 2pm to 10pm
Essential Duties:
- General knowledge of daily extrusion and production reports
- Communicate with Supervisor/Foreman on all production concerns
- Communicate with Extruder Operators on product times and bin space
- Starting and setting up all required equipment for production
- Controlling packaging materials, code dates, expiration dates, stickers and any items unique to product specifications
- Controls product quality, packaging quality, contamination, weight controls and line efficiency
- Will do general maintenance and repairs on equipment and assist maintenance personnel
- Will perform all equipment adjustments and change overs and troubleshoot equipment when problems occur
- Complete all daily reports in legible manner
- Assist in controlling packaging from warehouse
- Assist in supervising all line workers required on line
- Operator will assist other lines when needed
- Perform all other duties assigned
- Assist training of all line personnel
- Special projects as assigned
- Complete knowledge of bin, product distribution, product delivery and blending systems
- Coordinate all record keeping and charting to include cleaning schedule, packaging yields and efficiency
- Assist Supervisor and Foreman as needed to control packaging area
