We’re looking for an Engineering Intern for the summer of 2025 that is serious about a career in manufacturing. The Opportunity
As an Engineering Intern, you’ll work closely with our Project Manager and various other team members. This role will allow an intern the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in engineering and project management, allowing them to develop critical organizational communication and problem-solving skills.
Daily Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assisting in project planning, communication, documentation, data collection and analysis, and drafting
- Provide support with status updates, risk management, resource coordination, and CAD drawings
- Learn about project management, engineering tools, and practices, while contributing to the successful execution of projects
Unique Projects:
- Modify 2D CAD layouts
- Create Tuffy’s carbon footprint
- Develop the project management folder structure in the ERP system
- Assist with strategic initiatives
- Draw components in 3D CAD
- Coordinate odor control sampling
What You’ll Need to Be Successful at KLN Family Brands/Tuffy’s Pet Foods:
- At least a Junior in college pursuing a degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering
- Proficiency in 2D CAD would be preferred
- The ability to dedicate 10-12 weeks to the internship program for the summer of 2025
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
- The ability to work in a team atmosphere and be a great co-worker
- The ability to work on-site at our Perham, MN facility for the summer
Interns who demonstrate exceptional performance and a passion for our business may have the opportunity for full-time employment upon graduation.
Pay for this position will be a percentage of industry standards based on typical full-time starting salaries and will depend on your year in school and your timeline to graduation.
