Job Summary
The Branch Metrology Intern will support specific operations functions, such as assisting the quality department with CMM scans, overseeing the creation of new programs and assist the implementation of new CMM scanning hardware. The Branch Metrology Intern is responsible for collaborating with other branch operations staff to complete various related tasks and projects. This internship will report directly to the Operations Manager and perform other support duties as assigned.

The Branch Metrology Intern will support specific operations functions, such as assisting the quality department with CMM scans, overseeing the creation of new programs and assist the implementation of new CMM scanning hardware. The Branch Metrology Intern is responsible for collaborating with other branch operations staff to complete various related tasks and projects. This internship will report directly to the Operations Manager and perform other support duties as assigned.
Job Responsibilities
- Working closely with the Operations manager or assigned staff member and completing all allocated tasks.
- Administering scans and ensuring that parts are within tolerancing.
- Assisting the branch with CMM programming and determining how programs could be better written.
- Consult with customers to align metrological inspection and data reporting formats
- Aid the quality department in measurement sampling.
- Serve as the liaison between branches for CMM matters.
- Assist the branch in researching and addressing tolerancing concerns.
- Liaising with operational staff and quality control to ensure smooth operations in the branch.
- Updating documents and operational records.
- Identifying potential weaknesses and offering improvement suggestions.
- Keeping a log of everything learned and delivering presentations to staff and other stakeholders.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or similar
- Pursuit of a degree in Metrology, Industrial engineering or similar
- Strong self-motivation
- Ability to work alone or as part of a team
- Ability to remain calm in fast-paced environments

- Currently enrolled rising junior or senior (during internship program) and in good academic standing in an accredited college or university
