Develop, direct, and coordinate the pricing activities for Automotive & Industrial commercial personnel in the selling of services and materials.
Primary Responsibilities
- Collaborates with Commercial representatives to identify supply chain elements needed to fulfill customer quotations.
- Works with internal manufacturing locations and external service providers to assess feasibility and capacity for needed services.
- Manages and solicits vendor quotations that utilize appropriate negotiation and purchasing techniques to ensure quality, price, delivery, and service.
- Utilizes existing tools to develop and deploy straightforward, accurate, and secure pricing that accurately projects critical financial metrics.
- Consolidates, organizes, directs, and controls activities related to pricing for all Automotive & Industrial market-related quote solicitations.
- Develops system to easily and consistently identify applicable notes, exceptions, caveats, and assumptions.
- Develop and utilize a quote tracking mechanism and issue reports with relevant KPI’s to the commercial team.
- Collaborate with commercial and operational teams to refine pricing mechanisms to accurately estimate cost/pricing that is in line with operational capabilities.
- 5 years in the metal service center industry with a focus on materials management, purchasing, supply chain, or sales
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
- An ideal candidate will possess flow path understanding of sheet metal component manufacturing
- Knowledge and understanding of the flat-rolled metals market, including carbon and aluminum material specification designations
- Experience with developing/managing pricing
- Superior Excel skills
- Working financial management skills
