What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Manager position at Klutch Cannabis?
Position Overview: The Assistant Manager (AM) will work closely with the General Manager in overseeing all aspects of the retail operation, including sales performance, customer service, staff management, inventory control, security and compliance management. The AM is tasked with supporting the GM to ensure the retail location operates efficiently, meets sales targets, and delivers an exceptional customer experience.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Operational Management:
- Assist GM in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the retail location, including opening and closing procedures, staffing, scheduling, and workflow management.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and State regulatory requirements governing cannabis dispensary operations.
- Monitor and maintain store cleanliness, organization, and overall presentation to align with Klutch brand standards and create a positive shopping environment.
2. Sales and Revenue Generation:
- Support sales and product knowledge training with staff to enhance customer experience and drive sales growth and achieve revenue targets.
- Utilize technology platforms to monitor team and location performance metrics to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
- Ensure team is informed of sales initiatives, promotions, and events to maximize sales opportunities and increase customer traffic.
3. Customer Service Excellence:
- Exemplify Klutch culture of exceptional customer service, ensuring that all staff members are trained to deliver a positive and memorable experience.
- Address customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a timely and professional manner, striving to resolve issues to the satisfaction of the customer with solutions aligned with policy and leadership.
- Monitor Tattle feedback to gather customer insights and ensure timely customer resolution and or team member feedback to improve service quality.
4. Staff Management and Development:
- Assist GM in recruiting, hiring, training, and supervising retail staff, including supervisors, leads, agents and other support personnel.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to staff members, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Support GM in conducting performance evaluations, providing feedback, and implement training and development initiatives to enhance employee performance and job satisfaction.
5. Inventory Control and Merchandising:
- Monitor inventory levels and merchandise assortment to ensure alignment with plan and product mix objectives.
- Oversee in store merchandising initiatives, including product displays, signage, and promotional materials, to ensure compliance with corporate visual merchandising guidelines.
6. Financial Management:
- Support GM in executing the retail location's budget, including expenses and payroll.
- Understand Key Performance Indicators impacting the location such as sales revenue, profit margins, and operating expenses, and assist GM in corrective action initiatives needed to achieve financial goals.
- Assist in the implementation and execution of cost-control measures and operational efficiencies to optimize profitability and resource utilization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in retail, with at least 1 year in a leadership role supporting a retail location.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets, showing initiative in problem solving and driving operational efficiency, and delivering exceptional customer service.
- Strong leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team of employees.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of retail operations, inventory management, and basic understanding of financial analysis.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance standards applicable to cannabis retail operations.
Stipulation of employment is passing an OHIO BCI and FBI background check in accordance with ORC/OAC 3796.
Employees are not allowed to work on the premises until the badge is activated in the Ohio Department of Medical Marijuana e-Licensing portal.
