Accounting Manager
Southport, Maine
Hodgdon Yacht is seeking an Accounting Manager, to be based in their Southport, Maine office. The Accounting Manager is responsible for the flow of financial data through the chart of accounts, oversight of the entire monthly accounting cycle and department workflow. The Accounting Manager reports to and communicates daily with the Chief Financial Officer.
\n- BS in Accounting or Business or equivalent work experience
- 5 years’ experience in accounting in a manufacturing business
- Must be able to analyze and interpret financial information
- MAS 90 software experience highly preferred
- Excellent computer skills
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office application
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Must have a strong background in management and customer service
- Strong ability to perform complex calculations
- Ability to commute to Southport, Maine Monday through Friday. Work schedule is generally 7:00am-4:30pm Monday through Thursday and 7:00am-11:00am on Fridays. From time to time, it may be necessary to work additional shifts or on weekends.
- Annual pay in the range of $70,720 - $83,200

- Responsible for the general ledger, accounts receivable, fixed assets, balance sheet reconciliation, routine production and overhead expense review, employee benefits and bank reconciliations
- Create and maintain new and existing sales orders; affirm job data integrity
- Manage and create customer invoicing; reconcile against any fixed price limits
- Review payroll in MAS 90 ensuring job and cost accuracy; reconcile 401(k) deferrals and match payments
- Oversight and assistance with accounts payable functions
- Assists with and coordinates major purchases and financial transactions with Accounts Payable Clerk
- Manage and reconcile corporate credit card program
- Govern sales tax compliance and State remittance
- Works with Purchasing, Human Resources and other departments for training, problem solving, and process improvements related to MAS 90 transactions
- MAS 90 setup, testing and maintenance of all modules
- Prepares financial analysis as requested or required
- Perform other duties as required
