Frye Island Ferry System, located on beautiful Sebago Lake, provides ferry transportation to Frye Island servicing the local community and vacationers throughout the season.

TRAINING PROVIDED FOR ALL POSITIONS
CAPTAINS: VESSEL OPERATION EXPERIENCE PREFERRED
Ferry Boat Captain - Responsible for safe and efficient operation of 90-ton twin-diesel vehicle and passenger ferry boats
Ferry Mate/Deckhand - Passenger interface, ticketing, loading, and departure and arrival operations for vehicle and passenger ferry
\n- Seasonalfull time position starting April through beginning of November
- 6-hour shifts with 3 shift schedules availablerunning from 7 am – 10 pm
- On call or per diem opportunities also available
- Opportunity to work outdoors and interact with members of the community

- Hourly rate starting at $20/hr
- Experience in powered vessel operation
- Demonstrated proficiency in handling twin-engine flat-bottom barges under the range of expected load and weather conditions. Familiarity with transport vessel operation desirable.
- Flexibility and responsiveness - capacity to adapt to changing circumstances and demands.
- Strong collaborative and customer service orientation.
- Ability to use computer software and communicate via email.
- Ability to use a mobile device and app to perform ticketing.
- Ability to consistently differentiate vehicle configurations and apply charges accordingly.
- Physical ability to walk and bend repeatedly, secure and release chains, and pass through tight spaces between vehicles.
- Ability to use computer software to open and close shifts; ability to communicate via email.
- Ability to maintain a positive and customer-friendly demeanor.
