Warehouse/Shipping Associate

SUMMARY

Receives, stores, and distributes materials, tools, equipment, and products within the plant by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Reads work orders and shipping orders to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
• Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or the other designated areas.
• Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, or date code.
• Sorts and stores perishable goods in refrigerator.
• Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tolls, or other stock items and distributes items to production workers or assembly line.
• Verifies that parts or materials picked are in good condition with no visible physical damage and parts or materials are the oldest stock to make sure inventory is rotated.
• Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves or conveys orders to packing station or shipping department.
• Marks or checks materials with identifying information.
• Opens bales, crates, and other containers.
• Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed on receiver record forms.
• Weighs or counts items for distribution within the plant to ensure conformance to company standards.
• Arranges stock parts in specified sequence for assembly by other workers.
• Uses vehicles to transport items from the warehouse to the plant or to pick up items from several locations for shipment.
• Prepares parcels for shipping to customers.
• Maintains inventory records.
• Completes forms for parts distributed to individuals without work orders.
• Updates inventory using a computer for location changes of parts stored.
• Maintains warehouse in a clean orderly fashion.
