What are the responsibilities and job description for the Civil Tech position at KMM Telecommunications?
KMM Telecommunications is looking for a motivated and skilled Civil Technician to join our Team of Telecommunications Professionals in Shrewsbury, MA. We are looking for an individual that values hard-work and trust and wants to be part of a Team that values the same. This position would be in a 3- or 4-person Civil Crew.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform masonry tasks including building forms and pouring concrete pads for equipment placement, structural shelter foundations, and tower foundations.
- Experience preferred with core drills for shelter entry and drilling/setting concrete anchors.
- Civil construction tasks such as earth moving, equipment operation, retaining earth/water, concrete/asphalt, fencing, demolition, carpentry, roofing, and painting.
- Electrical experience and grounding (cad-weld) is a bonus.
- Ability to read construction drawings is a bonus.
- Ability to work independently and as a team making sound decisions on behalf of the company.
- Communicate needs, problems, and questions to the civil foreman.
- Install, connect, and test underground and above-ground grounding systems.
- Carpentry and miscellaneous trade skills.
- Landscaping, grading, and fence building as necessary.
- Work with Civil Crew Foreman to analyze job requirements such as labor and materials.
- Complete work in a timely and efficient manner as delegated by Civil Crew Foreman.
- Maintain a safe job site.
- Assist fellow employees in completing tasks on a teamwork basis.
- Must be able to work overtime, including Saturdays, Sundays, and evening hours.
- Adhere to all driving requirements as determined by State and Federal regulations
- Adhere to all KMM and industry (i.e., OSHA) standards/regulations
- Always keep KMM company vehicle clean and presentable
- Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
- Knowledge and ability to read blueprints, details and specifications required
- Heavy Equipment operator experience required
- HE SA Operator Certification preferred
- Commercial/residential electrical experience preferred
- AC/DC power and back up battery system experience preferred
- The ability to operate a company vehicle ability to sit, stand, kneel, or stoop for extended periods of time.
- Must be physically capable of manually digging & backfilling holes and trenches.
- Must be physically capable of lifting and carrying up to 80 lbs.
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent, and 1-3 year(s) recent construction or related experience
- Valid driver’s license with an MVR record that classifies you as insurable.
