The ideal candidate is motivated, driven, and has a proven history of generating and closing deals and a proven track record of success in B2B sales, especially in the logistics, warehousing, or supply chain industries. This position reports directly to the Chief Strategy Officer.
The Sales and Business Development Leader will be responsible for identifying and capitalizing on opportunities to grow our warehousing footprint, develop new business relationships, and increase market share in strategic locations throughout the United States. The successful candidate must possess strong connections within the logistics and supply chain industry, enabling KMM to expand our existing business and cultivate new opportunities within our logistics and operations division. The ability to work independently in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment is critical.
Responsibilities :
Generate, develop, and manage relationships with key customer executives and decision-makers to enable KMM to win future work opportunities and promote our products and servicesAnalyze market trends and competitor activities to identify potential areas for business expansionDevelop and implement strategic account plans to maximize customer retention and growthCollaborate with internal stakeholders to align business strategies with the goals of key accountsDirect, coordinate, and review sales activities including creation and execution of annual sales planQualify new opportunities, respond to RFPs / RFIs, and present KMM solutions to potential customersDevelop business cases / proformas for new opportunities and establish pricing models to fit market needs and optimize business case profitabilityNegotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to ensure mutually beneficial agreementsFacilitate the renewal of contracts and agreements, aiming for long-term partnerships well in advance of contract termination date(s)Develop marketing strategies and work with cross-functional teams to create marketing materialIdentify new market opportunities and provide supporting business analysis for KMM to expand service offerings or industriesIdentify partnering opportunities with other service providers with complementary products and services, while effectively managing these relationshipsEnhance KMM’s portfolio by expanding our customer baseStay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and customer behaviorRecognize collaborative opportunities with fellow service providers offering complementary products and services, and oversee the management of these partnershipsSet and achieve sales targets for both revenue growth and customer satisfactionMonitor and report on progress toward sales goals, and adjusting strategies as neededEnsure execution of developed sales strategies, objectives, and goalsQualifications and Experience :
5 years of sales experience in logistics, 3PL, and / or supply chain2 years of Client Relations / Customer Service experienceDemonstrated sales achievements in the logistics industry, including connections with key decision-makersProven track record in sales, prospecting, and developing accountsUnderstanding of transportation industryAbility to manage fluctuating workload and prioritize various tasks as neededExcellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and adept at interacting with employees at all levels of the organizationProven track record of meeting sales target objectives with consistent success.Strong administration and organizational skills, including the ability to create and deliver sales presentations to senior executivesEffective written communication, capable of developing compelling proposals and responding adeptly to RFPsDemonstrated experience in complex solution / application selling in the high technology sectorProven expertise in consultative selling with extended sales cycles, and proficiency in MEDDIC and Challenger Sales MethodologiesSelf-starter, driven, and motivated to achieve resultsProficient with Microsoft Office 365 in a PC environment (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)Ability to travel up to 30% including occasional weekend sEducation :
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain (or related field), or equivalent industry work experienceMBA is a plusBenefits :
