What are the responsibilities and job description for the FedEx - Local Delivery Driver position at KMMR Business Group Inc.?
HIRING active, motivated, and reliable people like YOU to train as drivers to distribute packages safely and promptly to FedEx customers within established local routes on the west side of Rochester and suburbs. As a driver, you'll represent FedEx through our company, KMMR Business Group Inc., in an efficient and professional manner. This is a full time, non-CDL position. Candidates with military experience are encouraged to apply. KMMR is an independent service provider (ISP) for FedEx operating out of the West Henrietta, NY terminal.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, inspect & operate a delivery vehicle
- Follow DOT, FedEx, traffic regulations & safety standards
- Load/unload & organize packages into & out of the delivery vehicle
- Deliver a wide variety of items to homes & businesses within KMMR's territory
- Use an iPad tablet & scanner to follow routes & manage packages
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
- At least 21 years of age
- Successful completion of defined requisites
- Valid & clean NY driver’s license with no traffic violations
- High school degree or equivalency (GED)
Skills
- Excellent driving skills & ability to safely operate FedEx trucks in a variety of weather & traffic conditions
- Prefer but not required, delivery driver work experience; examples include: gig/app delivery work, medical transport, parts & flower delivery, etc.
- Ability to safely lift, move & carry packages up to 150lbs with handcart onto & off of the delivery vehicle continuously throughout the workday - VERY PHYSICAL JOB
- Willing to learn & use an iPad tablet & package scanner
- Proficient organizational & time management skills
- Professional demeanor; clean & neat appearance
- Good communicator with customers, managers & co-workers
- Flexible to change as needed
- Independent worker & team player
Job Type
- Weekday & weekend days required
- Typical hours: 8:00am - 5:00pm
- Full time 5 days a week with steady schedule
- 6 days weekly during peak season (before Thanksgiving through Christmas)
Salary
- Paid training
- Salary range: $19.00-$22.50 per hour
- Raises based on performance
