RESPONSIBILITIES
I. Technical Development
- Provide on-demand functional and technical support for Fermilab’s PeopleSoft HCM v9.2 system
- Design, code, test, and implement modifications to the PeopleSoft application
- Troubleshoot configuration, integration, and system issues as well as daily operational support activities
- Support PeopleSoft Tax updates, Open Enrollment, W2 processing, system patching, and upgrade activities
- Work on service desk tickets and change requests to resolve data issues and system problems
- Develop and execute sample testing scenarios for enhancements and defect resolutions
- Ensure system data integrity while performing requested duties
- Analyze and optimize system performance by identifying areas for technical improvements
- Provide advisory support and recommend best practices for PeopleSoft-related issues
- Review and analyze system configurations to identify opportunities for process improvement
- Assist in the documentation and implementation of business process changes
- Collaborate with Fermilab’s IT and business teams to align PeopleSoft updates with business needs
- Ensure compliance with PeopleSoft system administration requirements
- Participate in knowledge transfer sessions to equip Fermilab staff with troubleshooting and system maintenance skills
- Train end-users on PeopleSoft functionalities and best practices
- Share process analysis and design documentation with relevant stakeholders
- Provide regular status updates and reports on ongoing work and system health
- Communicate effectively with Fermilab’s technical team and business users to resolve complex system issues
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
- Expert knowledge of PeopleSoft HCM v9.2 modules, including HR, North American Payroll, Base Benefits, and Compensation
- Strong technical skills in PeopleTools 8.5x, including Application Designer, PeopleCode, Integration Broker, Application Messaging, Application Engine, Data Mover, PS Query, Component Interface, and Process Scheduler
- Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, SQRs, Oracle Discoverer, BI Publisher Reports, Windows/Linux, and UNIX Shell Scripting
- Knowledge of PeopleSoft system administration, including Internet Architecture, Application Server, and Web Server configuration
- Knowledge of ITIL processes preferred
- Strong oral and written communication skills
BACKGROUND
- Experience in PeopleSoft system administration, including Internet Architecture, Application Server, and Web Server configuration
- Experience with PeopleSoft Tax Update-related activities, including custom COBOL and SQR modifications
- Experience with PeopleSoft v9.2 Enterprise HCM Person Model and Non-Employees, Benefits Open Enrollment
- Experience with the PeopleSoft 9.2 Employee Self-Service Fluid Interface
- Experience in a similar organizational environment (e.g., national laboratories, non-profits, higher education, or government entities) preferred
- 10 years of development experience as a PeopleSoft Systems/Developer Analyst using an Oracle database required
- Experience with PeopleSoft HCM v9.2 Employee Self-Service applications (e.g., ePay, eProfile, and eBen) required
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
