Responsibilities
- Provide personal care services, including assistance with bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Monitor and record vital signs as needed, ensuring any changes are communicated to healthcare professionals.
- Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary requirements and preferences.
- Assist clients with mobility and physical activities to enhance their physical well-being.
- Offer companionship and engage clients in social activities to promote mental health.
- Support individuals with dementia or cognitive impairments through patience and understanding.
- Ensure compliance with resident rights, maintaining confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams, including social workers, to provide comprehensive care plans tailored to individual needs.
- Assist clients with disabilities in daily tasks while promoting independence within a safe environment.
- Maintain a clean and organized living space for clients.
Skills
- Experience or training in hospice care is preferred.
- Knowledge of vital signs monitoring and basic medical procedures.
- Understanding of resident rights and ethical caregiving practices.
- Familiarity with dementia care techniques and strategies for effective communication.
- Proficient meal preparation skills tailored to client needs.
- Background in social work or related fields is a plus.
