Summary / Objective
KMS Solutions is seeking a highly motivated individual to join a team of engineers and technicians providing engineering and technical support to the Ranges, Engineering, and Analysis Department at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) in Newport, RI. This multi-disciplinary team is responsible for providing systems safety, environmental qualification testing, and range sustainment in support of undersea warfare systems. Candidates with strong communication skills and experience in systems engineering are highly desired.
Essential Functions
- Work with NUWC, the program office, and the acquisition community to address undersea tracking range priorities.
- Manage development, delivery, and installation planning for undersea tracking range implementation.
- Plan, schedule, and conduct meetings.
- Brief all levels of management and stakeholders on undersea tracking range status as required.
- Coordinate and support NUWC and the program office with all program stakeholders across different organizations.
- Support other collateral programmatic or technical duties within the program office such as letter writing, acquisition documentation support, and process and procedure development.
- Manage and develop USW systems and elements to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications.
- Research and analyze the sonar signal processing and detection theory.

This job operates in a professional office or laboratory environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers. This role also utilizes the installation and maintenance of computer servers and networking equipment.

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work :
The typical workday is eight hours in length. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, with concurrence from the supervisor. Must be available during the core work hours as determined by the contract / location and must account for the hours in a pay period to maintain Full-time status.
Telework :
This is a 100% onsite position that does not allow for telework.
Travel :
Up to 10% travel may be required.
