Fox TV Stations FOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. These stations leverage viewer, distributor and advertiser demand for the FOX Network’s national content.
JOB DESCRIPTION
NEWS WRITER / PRODUCER - Per Diem Position
Responsible for organization and production of newscasts including show rundown, story selection, and execution of show; act as liaison between on-air talent and production and technical staffs; familiarity with day-to-day operations of live television broadcast.
Requirements :
- 3-5 years live television production experience in this market preferred;
- Detail-oriented and plugged into current events with an emphasis on health, business, lifestyle, and entertainment topics;
- Research, book, and produce individual segments within a newscast and then line produce the segments to air;
- Pre-interview guests, research topics, and write scripts for live and recorded pieces, segments, and studio guests;
- Must have control room booth skills;
- Ability to work overnight shifts along with flexible hours and weekends;
- Candidate will be required to join the WGA East union.

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is : $29.32-45.61 per hour. We provide Freelancers medical / dental / vision insurance and 401k after they meet eligibility criteria and any State required time-off, in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
