Position Summary:
Provide maintenance and operational support for plant facilities to ensure employee safety, equipment safety and functionality, and uninterrupted production operations. Installs, maintains, and repairs electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), carpentry, painting, machinery, equipment, pipe (pneumatic and hydraulic), and other building systems of KMW.
Primary Function:
- Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment. Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements as part of a team.
- Troubleshoot issues and make repairs of production and facility equipment to maintain maximum efficiency.
- Installs, programs, or repairs automated machinery and equipment such as robots or programmable controllers.
- Set up, test, and maintain machine tools such as Robots, Shot Blaster, Exchange Air, and Powder Coat System to repair or fabricate parts. Operate cutting torches or welding equipment.
- Completes weekly maintenance schedule as assigned.
- Maintain maintenance area in a safe, clean, and orderly fashion.
- Ensure compliance with company safety and security standards, procedures, and policies.
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating to get along well with co-workers and management.
- Must be able to travel between facilities. A company vehicle is available for travel.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Knowledge of building systems such as plumbing, pipe, and electrical systems.
- Ability to identify issues and determine repairs that are needed.
- Great eye for detail.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write numeric and alphanumeric characters.
- Ability to perform simple math calculations.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Good mechanical reasoning.
- Good attendance is a must and safety is a priority.
Education and Experience:
- One year certificate from college or technical school; 6-12 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid drivers license
Physical Demands & Working Conditions: Must be able to meet, with or without reasonable accommodation, the physical requirements associated with the essential functions of this position.
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
- Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to fingers, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
- May be regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles, extreme heat, and vibration.
- Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and other manufacturing materials.
- Noise level is usually loud.
- Must be able to work in a non-climate-controlled work environment. Heat and cold will be factors.
- Operation of machinery and tools requires the use of safety equipment to include, but not limited to steel toe shoes/boots, hearing protections, gloves, and safety glasses. Personal protective equipment allowance provided by company upon meeting eligibility requirements.
Drug screen and Physical Capacity Profile test is required. Safety and attendance are a priority.
Wage is commensurate with experience: Professional manufacturing work environment, with job training and opportunities for advancement.
- 4 level pay grade scale
- Shift differential for 2nd and 3rd shifts
- Performance based wage reviews bi-yearly
