Summary of Position:
Under the direct supervision of the Shift Supervisor and/or the Warehouse Coordinator, the Warehouse Associate is responsible for the operation of fork lift/clamp trucks used in placing inventory into the warehouse and pulling inventory for loading into outbound trucks to ensure customer quality with minimum supervision while maintaining accurate inventory.
Responsibilities
- Operates a fork lift/clamp truck to remove loads of finished product from any of several finished goods conveyors, place finished goods into the proper bays and move material, products and other items from receiving or production areas to storage, quarantine or to other designated area.
- Operate industrial truck or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
- Read work order or follow oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved.
- Load and unload materials such as packaging supplies to the proper warehouse area.
- Mark materials with identifying information, also monitor outgoing finished products.
- Record materials or items received or distributed and ensure accurate completion of all paperwork including move sheets, load sheet, etc.
- Review production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
- Use computer to enter records and maintains inventory records.
- Perform forklift equipment checks for each shift.
- Keeps track of finished goods produced during assigned shift for comparison to production tally by maintaining a shift tally sheet.
- Receives orders for loading and operates a fork lift/clamp truck to pull proper products from inventory and loads products onto outbound trucks.
- Occasionally manually hand stacks and loads manufactured products into either outbound trucks.
- Participates in physical inventory counts, understand inventory procedures in bay areas, sorts and places materials according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
- Drives a shuttle truck to place empty trailers into the loading docks from the trailer storage lot.
- Return full trailer loads to the trailer lot.
- Communicates with Warehouse Coordinator or Shift Supervisor regarding any problems with inventories, orders, or customer questions.
- Communicates with Maintenance Department and Warehouse Coordinator or Shift Supervisor regarding any equipment that may need preventative maintenance or repair work performed.
- Reviews recorded data regarding ongoing Warehouse operation on other shifts to spot potential problems with equipment or materials.
- Insures that housekeeping in the Warehouse is maintained to a safe level and that equipment, tools, supplies, etc. are properly stored at all times, as well as before leaving such area for breaks, meal times, and end of the shift.
- Participate in the continuous improvement with regards to matters of product quality, environmental, health, & safety.

Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience: Minimum of two years warehouse/ forklift experience in a manufacturing environment
