Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Using safe work practices and counseling others to do the same
- Determining if machines need to be taken out of production for repairs or service
- Prioritizing work when multiple issues need addressed at once
- Taking an active role in requisitioning parts/materials necessary for plant operation
- Performing preventative maintenance as scheduled and as needed
- Communicating maintenance issues with other shifts to ensure continuity of operation
- Maintaining housekeeping standards in the Maintenance Department
- Reporting to work on time and working all hours required, including mandatory overtime
- Participating regularly in department/plant safety meetings
- Performing other work-related duties and projects as directed
Qualifications
To be considered for this position, you must have:
- High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Current OSHA Certified Industrial Truck Operator License
- Minimum five years of maintenance experience working with mechanical equipment in a heavy industrial environment
Requirements
You should possess:
- Knowledge of safety and security procedures
- Working knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, rotating machinery, pumps, pipe fitting, fire protection systems, conveying systems, bearing installations, power transmission, fans, welding, and fabrication skills
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems
- Basic math functions and mental calculation skills
