Are you a strategic operations leader with a passion for driving results in the transportation and logistics industry? We are seeking a dynamic Director of Operations to join our team and lead our intermodal, truckload brokerage, and LTL operations. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, this role is key to achieving our strategic goals and delivering exceptional service to our customers – while championing Knichel’s core values: Customer Obsessed, Team Focused, Be Valuable, Do the Right Thing.

We are a fast growing, woman-owned and operated, non-asset-based 3rd Party Logistics Provider headquartered in Cranberry Township, PA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement operational strategies that drive profitability and sustainable growth. Collaborate with executive leadership to establish KPIs and operational benchmarks.
- Operations Management: Oversee daily operations across intermodal, truckload brokerage, and LTL services, optimizing carrier relationships and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation.
- Financial Performance: Manage to operational budgets, analyze metrics, and implement strategies to achieve cost control and profitability targets.
- Technology and Innovation: Evaluate and implement technology solutions to enhance visibility, tracking, and operational efficiency. Leverage data analytics to drive decision-making.
What We are Looking For:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, supply chain management, or a related field (required).
- Experience:
- 10 years in transportation, logistics, or supply chain operations, with 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven expertise in intermodal transportation, truckload brokerage, and LTL services.
- Strong financial acumen, including experience managing operational budgets and achieving growth.
- Proficiency with transportation management systems (TMS) and data analytics tools.
- Skills:
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong customer service focus, with a track record of building and maintaining successful relationships.
- Ability to drive operational efficiency and scale in a high-growth environment.
