What are the responsibilities and job description for the Asphalt Plant Laborer position at Knife River Corporation - Mountain West?
- Communicate and promote safety compliance and environmental requirements in alignment with company standards
- Perform daily inspections of equipment
- Perform site inspections to ensure safety
- Perform maintenance on equipment as needed
- Monitor production
- Complete required reports
- Communicate effectively to co-workers, management, suppliers and others you come in contact with
- Maintain good attendance and safety record and set an example for others to follow
- Job requires steady to intermittent and repetitive physical activity including standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, walking on uneven ground, lifting, carrying, pushing, shoveling, and raking
- Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- Mechanical experience around asphalt plants and/or rock crushers and heavy equipment preferred
- Must be able to work in all weather conditions
- Must be willing to travel if job requires
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen
- Need a positive attitude with the ability to work well with others and follow directions.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and/or the ability to travel to various asphalt plant locations.
- Must be willing to work overtime, nights and weekends. Shifts may vary according to project demands.
