Job Summary:
- Responsible to safely repair and adjust hand or power operated equipment used to lubricate automobiles, trucks, and industrial equipment using hand tools. Dismantles equipment such as grease guns, air lines and lubricating pumps. Examines parts for breaks, wear, and dirt. Replaces defective parts and cleans and assembles equipment.
- Safely repair and or replace tires on automobiles, trucks, and industrial equipment using hand tools.
- Troubleshoot equipment maintenance problems to properly diagnose components to determine method and extent of repair needed. Read, interpret, analyze and apply information in technical manuals and schematics.
- Anticipate needed parts and supplies, disassemble equipment and parts, fabricate parts when needed and reassemble equipment and parts.
- Clean work areas.
- Communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written) Frequent contact and communication with others within and outside the company. Self-motivated, team player with excellent interpersonal skills, able to work independently or as a team.
- Proven experience handling multiple projects and priorities while maintaining tight deadlines. Highly organized with attention to detail.
- Accurately complete work orders and other documentation daily.
- Ensure OSHA, DOT, MSHA, safety and environmental regulation compliance.
- May be required to operate and maintain a company vehicle, or operate heavy machinery to ensure proper working condition.
- Responsible for providing basic hand tools.
- All other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Class A or B Commercial Driver's License with valid Medical Card is PREFERRED.
- Demonstrated mechanical knowledge to diagnose component, troubleshoot, repair, communicate and document.
- Reasoning ability equivalent to a level of applying principles of rational systems to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations. where only limited standardization exists. Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagrammatic or schedule form.
- Mathematical ability equivalent to a level of shop math - (The position may require different actual mathematical applications).
- Language ability equivalent to a level which is typically evidenced by an ability to read safety rules, instructions in the use and maintenance of shop tools and equipment and methods and procedures in mechanical drawing and layout work. Speaks clearly & distinctly.
