What are the responsibilities and job description for the ASPHALT OPERATIONS MANAGER position at Knife River - NDS?
Role Overview:
As the Asphalt Operations Manager, you are responsible for all aspects of Asphalt Operations in the Grand Forks and Devils Lake areas. This includes managing hot plant operations, coordinating crews, setting schedules, ensuring quality control, and ordering materials required for production.
Direct operation and maintenance of asphalt production and laydown. Assure work is in conformity with federal and state standards, accepted principals of design and engineering, and available funds.
This position regularly meets with stakeholders including regulatory agencies, customers, management, and fellow Team Members.
Minimum Qualifications:
As a successful Asphalt Operations Manager, you will have:
- Bachelors Degree or Equivalent in Civil Engineering, Construction management, a related field OR 5 years or more in the asphalt industry
- Familiarity with asphalt construction design and specifications in the upper Midwest
- Ability to hold and maintain a driver's license with acceptable driving record
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including overtime and some Saturdays.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in computer programs and operations
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bituminous Certifications
- Previous Management Experience
- Knowledge and experience in staffing plant and paving operations for adequate production levels
