What are the responsibilities and job description for the Title Insurance Examiner position at Knight Barry Title?
Knight Barry Title is seeking a Title Examiner! Under general supervision of the Title Manager, the Title Examiner searches and examines both residential and commercial properties by researching via online plant systems, county, city and other public records.
DUTES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Searches and examines properties in accordance with company and local examining procedures to determine the status of title. Abstracts and analyzes deeds, mortgages, easements, judgments, tax assessments, mineral reservations and other applicable instruments.
- Compiles reports from searched data and sends out a commitment/report based on status of title.
- Other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Analytical ability sufficient to perform tasks that are varied and short term requiring concentration, accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to locate, accurately compile and interpret information affecting status of title to real property.
- Ability to work effectively with others, meet deadlines and the ability to perform tasks requiring some physical exertion.
- Ability to operate personal computer and peripherals, copier, microfilm reader, etc.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, in person and by telephone.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSING
- High school graduation/equivalent with four years of experience in abstracting and compiling data from public records, including experience with commercial property records, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- As required by local regulations, specialized licensing may be required.
