Position Overview
The Security Officer for the residential building will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for residents, staff, and visitors. This individual will patrol various areas of the building, including parking garages and common areas, monitor security systems, and respond to any incidents or concerns. Key responsibilities will include responding to noise complaints, managing guest and delivery logs, ensuring access control, and actively monitoring security cameras for suspicious activity. The Security Officer will also be expected to assist residents and visitors by providing directions and ensuring that all protocols are followed for a safe living environment.
Security Officer Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of the building, including all garage levels, floors, common areas, and entry points to ensure the safety and security of all residents and property.
- Inspect garages and parking areas for suspicious activity, safety hazards, or unauthorized vehicles.
- Monitor and report any potential fire or safety hazards, such as blocked exits or equipment malfunctions.
- Respond to noise complaints by visiting resident units, knocking on doors, and addressing concerns professionally.
- Ensure all building access points are secure and that unauthorized individuals are not entering restricted areas.
- Log and monitor all visitors and deliveries entering the building through the designated access system (guest log or tablet), ensuring that proper identification and credentials are provided.
- Open doors for authorized visitors, contractors, and service personnel, ensuring that proper procedures are followed for building access.
- Assist delivery personnel with locating the correct apartments or common areas for drop-off and ensure that all packages are properly documented.
- Issue visitor or contractor badges, ensure compliance with building access policies and collect them upon exit.
- Continuously monitor security cameras and alarm systems for any suspicious behavior, unauthorized access, or safety concerns.
- Alert and report any suspicious activity or breaches in security to the appropriate authorities or building management.
- Assist in reviewing security footage in the event of an incident, providing valuable information as needed.
- Answer phone calls from residents, guests, or management, directing inquiries and providing assistance as necessary.
- Provide directions and general assistance to residents and visitors, ensuring a high level of customer service and professionalism at all times.
- Maintain clear and accurate logs of all activities, incidents, and security-related events.
- Coordinate with other building personnel, such as maintenance staff, to address any urgent matters or service requests.
- Respond promptly to emergencies, including fire alarms, medical issues, or security breaches, following established protocols.
- Aid in directing first responders (police, fire, or medical teams) to the appropriate areas of the building in case of an emergency.
- Assist residents with evacuations or safety procedures during fire drills or actual emergencies.

Schedule & Pay
The Security Officer will be expected to work the overnight shift schedule from 7 : 00 PM to 7 : 00 AM, including weekends, and holidays, as required.
14.00-$16.00 an hour.
