What are the responsibilities and job description for the Industrial Controls Technician position at Knight Industrial Inc.?
What You’ll Do:
- Build, wire, and troubleshoot industrial control panels
- Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic valves, sensors, and automation hardware
- Read and interpret schematics (electrical, mechanical, hydraulic)
- Support FAT testing, startup at the Knight factory
- Collaborate with mechanical and electrical teams on end-to-end builds
- Alter, design, and build integration applications and R&D applications; including electrical schematics and layouts
What We’re Looking For:
- 3–5 years of industrial automation or control systems experience
- Strong working knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, sensors, VFDs, and machine safety systems
- Proficiency in electrical wiring, schematic reading, and cabinet layout
- Experience with machine vision systems (Keyence, Cognex) a plus
- Comfortable troubleshooting 480VAC, 240VAC, and 24VDC systems
- Bonus: Experience with EtherCAT, DeviceNet, Modbus, or BacNet
- Bonus: Familiarity with Allen-Bradley, FactoryTalk, TwinCAT, or Keyence software
- Bonus: Experience with UL508A
- Bonus: Program and support PLC/HMI systems (Allen-Bradley, Beckhoff, etc.)
- Bonus: Travel occasionally to customer sites for commissioning and service (mostly western U.S.)
- High school diploma required; technical training or certifications preferred

Pay: $21.92 - $22.30 per hour
