What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mortuary Removal Specialist position at Knight Riders Mortuary Transport?
An established mortuary transport/removal service is now hiring a Full-Time employee for immediate work in the Stuart area. We are seeking a highly professional person to be a part of our team. Knight Riders Inc. offers competitive pay, on the job training, a Christmas Bonus Program as well as excellent benefits. We also provide very nice "take-home" company vehicles and top of the line equipment to perform your duties. Our training program is on-the-job training so you will begin being paid on your first day of training. No experience, no problem. You will spend the first 30-60 days riding along with a Senior Staff member for training in every aspect of our duties.
The basic function of our company is providing transport services to local funeral homes. We transfer the deceased from their place of death to the funeral home that the family has chosen. We do interact with the family of the deceased on behalf of the funeral homes, so you will be expected to wear a suit and tie, have a clean, neat appearance and be able to communicate in a professional manner. Please note, this can at times be a very physically demanding job. You will not just be driving a vehicle to and from hospitals and nursing homes. For example, there are times where we must remove a 250 lb or more decedent from the upstairs of a residence and you must be able to carry one end of the stretcher with that much weight up or down stairs.
The way our service works is that you will not be required to come into an office every day. You are simply on-call from home and will respond to the place of death in a take-home company vehicle. The schedule for our full-time staff is being "off-call or off-duty" two days per week. The remaining five days, you are considered "on-call or on-duty" and are expected to respond to dispatches 24 hours a day, all five days when on duty.
To qualify for this position you must:
- 21 years of age or older
- Neat professional appearance
- Active VA Drivers License with a clean driving record
- Professional communication
- Be able to work independently with little direct supervision
- Live in the Stuart or surrounding areas
We are looking for a candidate that lives specifically in the Stuart area. Due to the time sensitive nature of our work, only candidates living within 15 minutes of the Patrick County Health Department/downtown Stuart area will be considered first.
If considered for the position, we will contact you through really to set up an interview.
