The Role
We’re looking for an elementary teacher to join our team. Here’s what you’ll do:
Create and teach lesson plans that align with our classical Christian curriculum.
Engage students across various subjects, fostering curiosity and growth.
Assess student progress fairly and provide constructive feedback.
Build a classroom environment that encourages respect and participation.
Collaborate with colleagues to share ideas and refine teaching practices.
Communicate clearly with students, parents, and staff.
Serve as a positive role model, reflecting Christian values.
Maintain confidentiality and use school resources responsibly.
Take on additional responsibilities as needed.
What We’re Looking For
A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in education.
Understanding of childhood development and effective teaching strategies.
Basic computer skills for communication and grade updates.
Organizational skills and the ability to manage a classroom.
Creativity in engaging students with different learning styles.
Willingness to learn classical Christian teaching methods.
Agreement with Knight’s Christian Academy’s Statement of Faith.
Honesty, reliability, and a professional demeanor.
Ability to work both independently and with a team.
Prior elementary teaching experience is a plus but not required.
Position Details
Type: Full-time, 10-month contract (school year).
Location: 310 Douglas Street, New Smyrna Beach, FL.
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8-hour shifts, 40 hours per week. No nights or weekends.
Salary: Up to $23.47 per hour, based on experience.
Benefits: Paid personal days, school holidays, and professional development days during the contract. Optional gap benefits available.
