Job Title: Fleet Diesel Mechanic/Technician
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fleet Diesel Mechanic/Technician to join our team at Abilene Motors Express. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic and innovative company that values its employees and provides ongoing training and development opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Repair heavy truck & trailer (semi-class 8) equipment, including brakes, engines, transmissions, and electrical systems.
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements.
- Diagnose and repair complex issues with equipment, including HVAC and electrical systems.
- Test drive equipment as needed, if CDL certified.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational or trade school diploma preferred.
- 3 years of experience in heavy duty vehicle maintenance (class 8 semi tractors/trailers).
- Valid driver's license required.
- Possess excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Able to read and understand repair manuals, as well as perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Ability to multitask and work effectively as part of a team.
- Must possess the necessary tools and equipment to accomplish job tasks.
- Pass a pre-employment drug screen (hair) and lifetime background check.
