Description
Knight's Precast is seeking an individual to perform in a dual role between our estimating and engineering departments. As an estimator this individual will be responsible for providing technical expertise for project costing on various project types for the SC & GA markets. As a project designer this individual will be responsible for preparing submittal packages and production drawings per specifications and customer requirements.
Essential Functions:
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans.
- Detail oriented in addition to possessing good written and verbal skills.
- Provide quality takeoffs and proposals that comply with project specifications.
- Develop and prepare submittal packages and production drawings from civil plans.
- Identify drawing and specify conflict(s), insufficient info and missing data while contributing ideas to enhance project productivity and cost efficiencies.
- Modify and document redline drawings returned from engineer or customer.
- Drafting/AutoCAD experience and the ability to illustrate and dimension drawings of precast product offering as required.
- Assist with problem resolution and opportunity development.
- All other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Working knowledge of precast design software (i.e.- Mhpro, Titan, etc.)
- Minimum 2 years’ experience utilizing AutoCAD
- General working knowledge of structural engineering terminology
- Attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to multi-task on multiple projects while adhering to required timelines
- Ability to work independently with minimal direction or supervision required
- Willingness to work as a team player
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to problem solve.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to safely lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Ability to work in extreme weather, including but not limited to high heat, low temperature, and high sun environments.
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for long periods of time.
- Ability to climb and descend stairs.
- Ability to perform direct keyboard entry operations for regular periods of time.
