Precast Designer

Description

The Precast Designer is responsible for producing accurate production drawings for precast concrete structures utilizing computer-aided drafting software in a timely manner. As a Precast designer this individual will be responsible for preparing submittal packages and production drawings per specifications and customer requirements.

Essential Functions:

• Ability to read and interpret construction plans.
• Detail oriented in addition to being well versed, written and verbally.
• Develop and prepare submittal packages and production drawings from civil plans.
• Identify drawing and specify conflict(s), insufficient info and missing data while contributing ideas to enhance project productivity and cost efficiencies.
• Modify and document redline drawings returned from engineer or customer.
• Drafting/AutoCAD experience and the ability to illustrate and dimension drawings of precast product offering as required.
• Assist with problem resolution and opportunity development.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed.

Requirements

• Working knowledge of precast design software (i.e.- Mhpro, Titan, etc.)
• Preferred 2 years’ experience utilizing AutoCAD.
• General working knowledge of structural engineering terminology
• Basic understanding of Storm Water and Sanitary Sewer systems.
• Attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to multi-task on multiple projects while adhering to required timelines.
• Ability to work well independently as well as with others.
• Self-motivated in the work place. 
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to problem solve.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to safely lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in extreme weather, including but not limited to high heat, low temperature, and high sun environments.
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time.
• Ability to climb and descend stairs.
• Ability to perform direct keyboard entry operations for regular periods of time.
