About The Role
The Assistant VP of Engineering is responsible for providing leadership, developing short- and long-term strategic roadmaps and directing a program of projects, processes, MHE equipment and engineering design to drive operational performance. The AVP of Engineering will apply best practices and continuous improvement programs and innovation to drive efficiencies in labor, technology and facility performance for the ecommerce fulfillment and retail distribution networks supporting eight specialty apparel retail brands. This position will also have a heavy focus on optimizing processes associated with meeting customer demand and efficiency objectives.
The impact you can have
This position works on-site at either our Columbus, Ohio or Greencastle, Indiana location. The ability to travel to both sites is required.

About The Role

The impact you can have
- Continuously explore opportunities to enhance supply chain performance through an evaluation of network layout (domestic and international), 3rd party logistics opportunities, advanced engineering capabilities, and future labor needs.
- Develop, direct and administer distribution/fulfillment engineering programs and staffing models designed to optimize the facilities, process designs, specifications and procurement of all current/future capital projects and equipment.
- Develop and lead the engineering teams across multiple facilities
- Lead and execute operational goals and projects to successful completion.
- Strategic planning experience in P&L project budgeting and management, capital planning, contract negotiations and cost expense savings.
- Develop and implement processes, projects and strategies to ensure overall distribution/fulfillment center financial and project budgetary objectives meet or exceed expectations
- Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering or equivalent degree or work experience
- 10 plus years of experience in related positions of increasing responsibility in logistics, supply chain management, ecommerce fulfillment, distribution or warehouse environment.
- 10 plus years of leadership experience in an ecommerce fulfillment and/or distribution environment required.
- The ability to drive business changes through effective communication and influence.
- Engineering solutions with flexibility for volume changes while delivering the required productivity and cost per unit levels.
- Experience in collaborating with cross-functional business partners to ensure technology, financial and operational alignment with a focus on prioritizing key projects.
- The ability to evaluate and recommend fulfillment and distribution processes, equipment and technology to deliver throughput and capacity to optimize multiple 800K sq. ft. facilities with 400 associates that will support all brands as well as future growth.
- Experience in leading and developing a high performing engineering team.
