Glenmont Head Start, Holmes County, is committed to providing high-quality early childhood education and comprehensive services to children and families. We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Nutrition Worker to join our team and help provide nutritious meals to the children in our program.
The Nutrition Worker is responsible for preparing and serving nutritious meals and snacks to children enrolled in the Head Start program. This position ensures compliance with USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) regulations and follows all health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and serve meals and snacks that meet USDA and CACFP guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, ensuring compliance with sanitation and food safety regulations.
- Monitor food inventory and order supplies as needed.
- Accommodate dietary restrictions and food allergies as required.
- Work collaboratively with staff to ensure a positive meal experience for children.
- Maintain accurate records of meals served and food expenditures.
- Follow Head Start and local health department guidelines for food preparation and storage.
- Participate in required training and professional development activities.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience in food preparation, preferably in a childcare or school setting.
- Knowledge of USDA and CACFP meal requirements preferred.
- Food handler’s certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $22.00 per hour
