Job Position: Civil Engineer
Purpose: As a Civil Engineer at Knobelsdorff you will play a key role in designing, analyzing, and optimizing roads, grading and erosion control plans for construction sites. You will contribute to the development of innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of our clients and industry standards. This position will require onsite visits to collect and review customer’s sites details in order to assist with estimation and design of site plans once off site.

Responsibilities
- Experience working collaboratively on projects while managing project timelines, ensuring completion of projects on time.
- Knowledge of the design and constructability of the following:
- Site development
- Road design
- Grading plans
- Stormwater plans (SWPPP certification or ability/willingness to obtain)
- Erosion control plans
- Concrete
- Geotechnical studies
- Support in the work of analyzing, designing, implementing, or improving civil plans for ground mount solar development and execution.
- Performing a wide range of engineering tasks by operating computer-assisted design or engineering software and equipment such as site layouts, cut/fill analysis, road design, and more.
- Conferring with customers, engineers, and others to discuss existing or potential engineering products or projects.
- Ensuring that installation and operations conform to standards (internal and external) and customer requirements by preparing site specifications, technical drawings, or topographical maps.
- Establishing construction standards or specifications by performing a wide range of detailed calculations.
- Ensuring compliance with specifications, codes, or customer requirements by directing or coordinating installation, manufacturing, construction, maintenance, documentation, support, or testing activities.
- Writing reports and compiling data regarding existing and potential civil engineering projects and studies.
- Engage with the project team and participate in projects from design to construction.
- Experience with project management and customer relations.
- Work collaboratively in a team to design and execute complex projects under the direction of the team lead.
- Foster key strategic relationships with various partners.
- Ability to integrate and gain technical knowledge to become a reliable source of information to the engineering team.
- Ability to interface with regulatory agencies and manufacturers/distributors.
- Manage project files, drawings, documents & records in our database, maintaining confidentiality.
- Ability to manage multiple complicated tasks and achieve a high level of execution.
- Ability to thick quickly and assist in creating solutions to problems that arise from the field.
- Willing to travel as job requirement necessitates.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent education/experience.
- 2-3 years’ experience in Civil Engineering, or related field. To include experience in proper design and constructability.
- Professional Engineering license or EIT in progress with plans to obtain.
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
- Experience in using or a desire to learn the required software.
- Knowledge of applicable codes related to civil engineering.
- Must be self-motivated and flexible to accommodate changes in KE business strategies
- Have entrepreneurial approach to problem solving and be accountable for project decisions and actions.
- Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license that represents a history of safe & competent driving.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
- Must be able to sit, stand, kneel, stoop, walk, and sit for long periods of time.
- Must be physically capable of lifting and carrying up to 20 lbs.
