HVAC TECHNICIAN
DESCRIPTION: Do you want to come to work every day where you are plugged in to the heart of an amusement park? Knoebels HVAC team members are individuals who can keep their cool in heated situations. They work on everything from keeping the Gift Shops cool to keeping those burgers frying and those drinks cold. They have their hands on the motor that keeps Knoebels running smooth and the guests smiling.
EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Install and service HVAC equipment and components
- Investigate problems and perform repairs on various mechanical and electrical equipment in heating, cooling and ventilation systems
- Perform preventative maintenance on various mechanical, electrical equipment in heating, cooling systems and check and change air filters on a regular basis
- Work closely with department managers to maintain HVAC and restaurant equipment
- Be knowledgeable on park background information and current park events
- Perform cleaning duties at workstation to maintain a clean safe work area
TYPICAL QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:
- Minimum age 18
- Successful completion of an 18 month HVAC/R certificate preferred
- 2 years HVAC/R technical experience preferred
- Must have analytical skills and attention to detail with the ability to read electrical schematics, plans and manuals
- This is a seasonal part time or full time position with shifts between 8:00 am and 11:00 pm averaging from 8 to 10 hours per day, 5 to 6 days per week with evening and weekend hours required
- Requires working in a semi indoor, indoor air conditioned and outdoor environment
- Requires good verbal, phone, radio, email and in person skills and relate to people in a friendly professional manner
- Must be proficient in basic computer skills to access information via the Knoebels and other web sites
- Must have an outgoing personality with a strong commitment to customer service and to the Knoebel company
- Must be dependable, reliable, prompt, efficient, trustworthy, adaptable, organized and be a team player
- Must be upbeat, energetic, self-motivated and be able to stay focused
- Must be able to remain calm in times of stress
- Must present a professional image in appearance and conduct

The employment is considered variable hour employment because average weekly hours cannot reasonably be anticipated at the time of hire due to uncertainty of the work schedule (e.g. weather, fluctuating staffing needs, etc.).
