PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Receive, store, handle, and convey raw material / finished goods in safe, accurate, and timely manner.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate equipment (standup / sit-down / swing reach forklift, aerial lift) in a safe and timely manner. Ensure equipment is kept clean, perform daily safety checklists, and communicate equipment problems.
- Change forklift battery as necessary, wear appropriate safety equipment. Utilize opportunity chargers where applicable, charge forklift during break / lunch / end of shift.
- Support manufacturing with raw material, tooling, requisition product from warehouses, maintain Kanban / 2BIN, and ensure material availability on the shop floor.
- Shipping / Outbound; conveyance, sorting, staging, pulling, and loading.
- Receiving / Inbound; unloading, verification, put-away, pulling, and delivery.
- Conveyance / Manufacturing; prioritize material requirements and assist in determining production priority.
- Participate in cycle count program / perform verifications and maintain inventory accuracy of 99% .
- Must maintain a valid forklift license and follow MIOSHA standards as a professional Material Handler.
- Demonstrates a sense of urgency and follows verbal and written instruction clearly.
- Participates in standard job rotations. Perform job rotation with team members to insure proper standardized work and ergonomic safety.
- Perform all job duties according to safety policies and procedures
- Performs all 5S housekeeping tasks in appropriate areas. Works to ensure work area is maintained in a clean, orderly and safe condition at all times. Completes all regularly scheduled 5S checks. Immediately alerts team members of unsafe work conditions.
- Participates as a member of the Shipping / Receiving or Manufacturing Team. Participates in ongoing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs and policies. Prioritizes work to ensure best practices with all team members. Attends appropriate team meetings. Accepts responsibility and quickly identify / communicate areas that lack cohesiveness. Actively look for ways, and reinforce actions needed, to achieve synergy within the larger organization.
