JOB DESCRIPTION:
Responsibilities:
- Co-ordinate the test & repair of Traction Electronics through the test process utilizing optimal test resource.
- Set cell targets and prioritize workload to meet business KPI targets.
- Overview and safeguard safe working practices in all test areas, especially where high voltage testing is carried out.
- Evaluate new items for repair and develop test strategy to offer cost effective test for the business.
- Report weekly operational K.P.I’s to the Test Manager.
- Liaise with projects and internal / external customers to offer suitable test solutions.
- Produce technical reports when required to substantiate warranty analysis and reason for product failure.
- Mentor and develop product technicians / testers to establish and improve defined 'ways of working'.
- Propose technical solutions, test methods and working practices to improve test / repair processes.
- Implement and maintain routine maintenance procedures and methods to ensure test down time is reduced to a minimum.
- Provide emergency test cover when required
Desired Knowledge/Experience:
- Experience of Electrical/Electronic testing and repair
- Experience in a supervisory role
- Experience in a similar role: e.g. Power Module and Electronics Test would be an advantage.
- Experienced in fault-finding techniques down to component level on a range of equipment
- Experienced in the application and use of a wide variety of standard and bespoke Test Equipment
- Knowledge of Traction applications would be an advantage
